ABOUT US
The philosophy at Aqua Vista comes down to one big idea. That this business is like a martial arts dojo or practice hall, it's a place to go to practice being the best we can be at what we do. The struggle in this setting is not between us and someone else here, but between the person within ourselves that we are striving to become.
Our people to want more than just a "job" Aqua Vista Swim School provides for us a clearly defined structure through which we can test ourselves and be tested. Such a structure is called a game. We don't look for employees as much as we look for players in our game. We want people who are striving for a clearly defined way of being in and interacting with the world. It's a measure of us and how we evaluate ourselves cognitively, socially, emotionally and professionally.
HISTORY
Since 1996, Aqua Vista Swim School has been teaching swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages to become confident, comfortable swimmers. At Aqua Vista, we strive to create a blend of stroke development, refinement, fun and trust in a safe warm water environment.
In philosophy and practice, Aqua Vista believes in a child-centered approach, stressing the importance of individual attention. Small classes allow our students more individual attention. Our class size varies from a limited number of small groups with three swimmers per class, semi-private lessons with 2 swimmers per class, and private lessons of varied lengths for one student. This ratio allows our instructors to become very familiar with each student?s progress and achievements!
In addition to the increased quantity of specific instruction this ratio with our instructors also fosters a greater level of comfort when comfort is most essential! By utilizing games, and play, children become more relaxed, ready to learn, and goal oriented. The warm water also allows children to relax, as well as focus, transition to class, and learn new skills more easily.
Our staff at Aqua Vista are topnotch quality, having years of experience working with children and teaching swimming. They are all well trained to be positive and gentle guides in the water. Along with Aqua Vista specific training, the instructors also receive ongoing in-service training and ongoing in-service supervision.
